It is one of the Omani castles located in the Wilayat of Ibri, in the Al Dhahirah Governorate. It was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya’arubi. The castle consists of several buildings and houses, and is surrounded by a wall with several high towers. A falaj (traditional water channel) passes beneath the castle, and it also contains a mosque and a water well.
